STAR and CODI News August 2017
Message from the General Manager
Hello and welcome to your first newsletter from STAR Community Services. As you may know, STAR and CODI have merged their operations from July 1, 2017. Together, we aim to offer convenient, affordable and more efficient community transport services to all Ipswich residents. As a community organisation STAR offers services to improve the lives of elderly, frail and those with disabilities. In addition to transport, we also offer a range of NDIS and Disability Support and Aged Care services including Home CarePackages. The well-being of the community is at the heart of everything we do. Thanks to more than 120 volunteers who assist us in our day to day operations, we have supported thousands of community members, enjoy a healthier and more independent lifestyle.
We are proud to be servicing Ipswich alongside CODI. You’ll still see the familiar green CODI logo on our vehicles, all around Ipswich- supporting the community members in their everyday life and helping them stay connected to the wider community.

NDIS and Disability Support Services
As many Ipswich families start their NDIS journey, we are pleased to support them in making the most of their NDIS package. STAR is an approved Disability Services Provider under NDIS. With over 20 years of experience in serving the community, we understand that each one of us has unique needs, aspirations, and life goals. That’s why we work with you to develop a personalised plan to meet your specific needs. If you need assistance in getting ready for your appointment with the NDIA, please contact our Care Services Manager Melissa Bannerman on 3821 6699 or email email@example.com.
If you are an existing CODI Transport Client and you have an NDIS plan, your existing subsidy ceased on the date your NDIS plan was approved. If you have not contacted us to advise us of your plan, your service will revert to a private passenger (PP) and you will receive an invoice for the services you have accessed at the PP rate. To avoid additional out of pocket costs, please get in touch as soon as you’ve had your NDIS meeting to discuss your ongoing transport needs.
