STAR Spotlight: Shelia Bradshaw

Shelia Bradshaw, Contact Centre Volunteer

Shelia is one of the longer serving Contact Centre Volunteers. STAR values her support for the organisation and the many clients, colleagues and community members she supports.

Shelia has been a volunteer in STAR’s Contact Centre since 2011. She enjoys the interaction with clients, many of whom have become friends. She also enjoys the companionship of her colleagues. Shelia volunteers two days a week, although she has been known to work extra days if required.

Over the past nine years at STAR, Shelia has observed significant workplace changes and upgrades within the organisation. She witnessed an increase in the number of clients we provide transport for. She offers the new services STAR provides including home care and home maintenance.  Shelia supports many different areas we now service, not just Redland City.

Outside of STAR, Shelia is the Secretary of the Island Craft Group. She also organises day trips for both the Craft Group and the Over 50's Group, the "Bloomers". Personally, Shelia enjoys travel and all crafts including sewing, knitting.
