Brisbane Broncos 2022 Charity Partner
STAR Community Services is excited to be one of the Brisbane Broncos 2022 Charity Partners!
As a charity partner, STAR has been given an opportunity to engage in a 50-50 Charity Raffle at the Broncos vs Wests Tigers Game on Saturday, 30 July 2022.
Did you know that people over 70 are the loneliest people in Australia? Join Brisbane Broncos and STAR in our fight against social isolation amongst seniors. Buy your 50-50 raffle tickets NOW.
All funds raised from the 50-50 Charity Raffle will go towards supporting a unique initiative by STAR, Bridge Across the Generations, to fight the growing problem of social isolation, by connecting aged care students with STAR's elderly clients.
The Brisbane Broncos Charity Partner Program was established to assist Queensland charities whose values are aligned with those of the Brisbane Broncos.
You can also help by volunteering to sell tickets on Saturday night!
We need 60 volunteers to help sell the 50-50 Raffle tickets at the Broncos vs Wests Tigers game on 30 July 2022.
The more people we have the more tickets can be sold and more funds can be raised to support the elderly! Plus great prizes can be won on the day too!
What's my role as a volunteer?
Working in pairs, volunteers will sell 50-50 Raffle tickets to the general public. New volunteers will be paired with an experienced STAR volunteer.
Each pair of volunteers will use a handheld electronic mobile devices for fans to purchase the tickets. They will be given training at the event on the day for this.
*This is a non-contact activity and we have a COVID Safe Plan in place. All volunteers will wear a mask. Anyone with flu like symptoms will be excused from volunteering on the day.
Volunteers also have the opportunity to win great prizes, including a brand new Lenovo Android Tablet!
Essential instructions and dress code will be given to all registered volunteers.
We will end ticket sales prior to half time, at which point we will return back to Cleveland.
How will I get there?
All volunteers need to arrive at the Suncorp Stadium by 5pm.
Volunteers can make their own way to the game or board the STAR bus on the day. There is no allocated parking.
To board the STAR bus, Redlands volunteers will meet at Comfort Inn Hotel at 128 Middle Street, Cleveland from 3.15pm, bus departing at 3.30pm. Ipswich volunteers - we will pick you up at your door then we will go to the Ipswich Train Station and take the train in together (free travel) to Milton Train Station and then make the 6 minute walk to Suncorp Stadium.
Redlands Volunteers - the bus aims to leave the stadium by 9.30pm as the raffle ticket sales will be finished and equipment returned to the meeting room (Broncos’ organisers will show us where this is).
