STAR-CODI MERGER
Merger Offers Improved Community Transport for Ipswich Families
With STAR Community Services, Ipswich residents are enjoying convenient, affordable and more efficient community transport services. In July 2017, the two iconic community transport organisations STAR and CODI merged, forming a stronger efficient transport solution for Ipswich residents.
STAR Community Services, a not-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane since 1996, will continue to operate under the CODI brand and work towards strengthening and broadening its service base for the benefit of the Ipswich community.
“The wellbeing of the community is at the heart of everything we do. We respect CODI’s dedication to the community for last 35 years and we will continue to assist in keeping Ipswich moving. You’ll still see the familiar blue-gold star logo on our vehicles, all around Ipswich, supporting the community in their everyday life and helping them stay connected to the wider community,” said STAR Chairman, Mr Rob Spencer.
“The efficiencies generated by the merger will allow us to invest in improving quality and broaden STAR’s scope of services. For the ease of access, we’re moving our office to a great new location: Shop 1, 5 Jacaranda Street, East Ipswich 4305.” STAR Community Services are available to any resident of Ipswich who needs assistance. Government subsidies may be available for eligible clients.
In addition to community transport, STAR also offers NDIS, Disability Support and Aged Care Services to thousands of community members, with the ongoing support of over 280 STAR volunteers. Find out more about STAR on www.starcommunityservices.org.au or call 07 3821 6699.
