COVID-19 has disrupted our way of life and there is a lot of uncertainty as to how that will impact on STAR clients. The situation is serious, however we want you to know that STAR Community Services is working hard to ensure that services are still available.

As a service provider since 1996, STAR has a strong foundation and an amazing staff. Our focus is on listening to our clients and ensuring they get the care and services they need.
We are looking for ways to help you get through this very unsettling time.

We know there is so much happening in the world. Some of the information in the media can be unsettling. News programs tell you to stay at home, but that makes you feel even more isolated.
It is important to have someone to talk to when you are not sure what to do. STAR’s team is available if you simply need a friend to talk to or need help understanding the current situation.
STAR Tech is a program which can help you use technology to connect with friends and family. Now is the perfect time to learn how to FaceTime your grandchildren. The program provides a tablet computer, training sessions and support to help you stay connected. You can begin the STAR Tech program by calling our team.
Here are a few more ideas to keep you healthy and active at home:
- Sit in the sun for a few minutes each day.
- Make a potpourri basket with dried flowers from your garden.
- Stretch in a chair or on your bed.
- Give your pet a few extra cuddles.
- Write a hand-written letter to a friend.
- Listen to music or read a free eBook from the library.
