🏛️ Conducting Tours for Seniors
Help create enjoyable “trip down memory lane” experiences. Volunteers should be able to assess the physical and cognitive needs of visitors and adapt tours accordingly. Encourage seniors to share their stories and experiences—our visitors have so much to teach us. Patience and understanding are key, as some visitors may have mobility, hearing, or cognitive challenges.
🎒 Conducting Tours for School Students (Years 2–3)
School groups can be lively and full of curiosity! These tours require energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to keep students engaged. Ask questions about displays, encourage student participation, and be ready for lots of fun and unexpected questions. Most importantly—have fun! If you enjoy it, the students will too.
🚐 Outreach Visits – “Show & Share” Program
Join us in visiting aged care facilities and respite centres to deliver interactive presentations. Topics may include WWII, dairy farming, school days, and more. We bring museum items to share stories and spark memories. These sessions are highly rewarding and greatly appreciated by residents and staff.
