Community transport for under 65s

Reliable, Affordable Transport under Community Transport Funding for people under 65 years of age, who are not eligible for NDIS.

STAR is now extending its Community Transport service to people with disability or disadvantaged, who are not eligible for NDIS. The service is available in Darling Downs, Redlands and Ipswich areas.

The service supports members of our community:

  • To access their community and essential services;
  • To participate socially and economically; and
  • To maintain their independence.

Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible for the program if you:

  • are under 65 years of age
  • have no or limited access to other transport options, including public or private transport or transport funded through other funded/subsidised schemes
  • are an unpaid carer, travelling in your role as a carer
  • are not receiving transport services for the same or similar purpose under another government program, for example the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS), Commonwealth Aged Care Programs (including CHSP and Aged Care Packages), or Queensland Health Patient Transport Services.

Community transport can be provided on a one-to-one basis, in groups, or in aggregated arrangements.
