Textiles Team Member

As a Textiles Team Volunteer, you may assist with:

🧺 Processing donations in accordance with the Museum's collection management policy
👗 Preparing items for cleaning and storage following Museum textile procedures
📖 Researching items for historical significance, provenance, and stories
📝 Preparing documentation for cataloguing and indexing textile collections
🪡 Hand-sewing identification tags onto garments
📸 Assisting with the photographing of items for inclusion in the Museum's eHive records
📦 Correct storage, wrapping, and handling of textile items
📋 Conducting regular stocktakes and maintaining collection records
🎨 Creating and coordinating displays within the Museum's Textiles Display Room
🤝 Collaborating with other Museum teams on exhibitions, events, and displays
💡 Providing advice on best-practice textile procedures and processes
