Are you creative, organised, and keen to build (or refresh) your marketing skills? STAR Community Services is looking for a Volunteer Marketing & Events Assistant to support our marketing team in various marketing and promotional activities including helping to promote a major local community event in May.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a university or TAFE student, recent graduate, or someone wanting to keep their skills sharp while contributing to meaningful work to support vulnerable members of our community.
About the role
You’ll be involved across social media, design, event support, and marketing administration, helping make a real impact in the community. Full training and support will be provided.
Key responsibilities
- Designing flyers, ads, and promotional materials using Canva
- Supporting promotion of STAR services and events across social media and other channels
- Assisting with event preparation, including organising collateral, printing, and setting up materials for stalls and events
- Updating website content (full training provided)
- Creating internal documents and marketing resources as requested
- Providing general marketing and events support as required
What we’re looking for
- Creative thinking and an eye for design
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisation, time management, and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and confidence working with written materials
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the values and vision of STAR Community Services
- The ability to work respectfully with a diverse range of stakeholders, including vulnerable community members
- Adaptability and a positive approach in a changing, innovative environment
