About Volunteering Redlands

Volunteering Redlands (VR) is a dedicated volunteering resource centre for the Redlands Community.

VR an arm of STAR Community Services – Brisbane's leading not-for-profit organisation providing transport and quality care to the elderly, frail, and those with disabilities. STAR is proud to help more than 6000 members of community enjoy a healthier, independent life.

At Volunteering Redlands we represent the interests of volunteers and community groups that utilise the services of volunteers. Volunteering Redlands is funded by STAR Community Services and grant applications as sourced. We operate as a community based non-profit organisation managed mostly by volunteers.

  • Assist individuals to contribute or participate in community activities and events through volunteering
  • Achieve excellence in volunteering through a professional volunteering management program

  • Offer a wide range of services to community groups including supporting volunteer management, education and training, referrals, recruitment, events and transport services

We provide leadership and support on all volunteering activities in Redlands through training, services and resources.

We act as a hub for all volunteering activities in Redlands by connecting the not-for-profit organisations with the individuals who wish to make a positive contribution to their community by volunteering. We support partnerships with local government, community groups and corporate institutions, on volunteering related issues.

We offer membership services to not-for-profit organisations based in Redlands. Our members enjoy a wide range of exclusive benefits including volunteer referrals and recruitment, volunteer management support, education and training, events promotion and management, and transport services. Individuals willing to volunteer in community activities and events can register their interest with Volunteering Redlands online. All new volunteers are offered induction training, and are assisted in finding the most suitable roles. Browse currently available volunteer positions.

We also organise the Volunteer Recognition Award. The award celebrates the spirit of volunteering and recognises volunteers throughout the community for their exemplary volunteerism.
